THE POWER OF DECISION.-part 1
November 6, 1992 I gave my life to Jesus.
3 MAJOR THINGS I LEARNED THAT DAY:
1) Too many times we are wanting the Lord to do everything for us. We want Him to do all the work BUT we want to RECEIVE ALL the BENEFITS!
2) And God will ALWAYS DO His part.
3) But God will NEVER DO our part! But He gives us the strength & grace to do it.
THAT BEAUTIFUL DAY Jesus instantly delivered me from regret, guilt, shame, and my drug & alcohol addictions. It was glorious!!! But there were still many other things that He did not change that day: I still had a tremendous amount of other things like smoking, rage, anger, and unforgiveness. I remember asking God "Why didn't you take all of those things away too?" I then heard the Lord say to me, "I changed those things in your life because I love you Josh. I want you to change those other things in your life because you love me!" Notice God placed the DECISION TO CHANGE back upon me. Here's a great example of this when God spoke to Abraham:
"And Abram fell on his face: and God talked with him, saying, AS FOR ME, behold, my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations." (Genesis 17:3-4 KJV)
= GOD HAD ALREADY MADE HIS DECISION, "AS FOR ME...", now HE WAITS to see WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DECIDE TO DO? The power of life and death is not only in your words, but also in your choices. Choose Life!!!
